Teen Stabbing Leads to Jail Sentence for 16-Year-Old in Swindon

A 16-year-old boy in Swindon has been sentenced to five years in jail for a targeted knife assault that took place in the Meadowcroft Fields area on June 8. The incident, described by Wiltshire Police as a ‘targeted assault,’ involved the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy multiple times, resulting in life-threatening injuries that required extensive treatment.

The attack occurred in broad daylight, with several witnesses present, including children. Fortunately, a passer-by administered first aid to the victim, potentially saving his life. The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested the following day and pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent.

DC Corrina Wiltshire of Swindon CID emphasized the gravity of the incident, stressing that there is no place for such violence in Swindon or Wiltshire. She expressed gratitude towards the members of the public who provided life-saving assistance and highlighted the traumatic impact of the incident on witnesses, especially children.
