Salisbury City Council has expanded its fleet of vehicles with the addition of 4 new electric vans for the Parks Team. This significant development means that half of the Parks Team’s vehicle fleet now runs on electric power. The newly acquired Ford Leader Transit 350 L2 electric vans were obtained through Hendy Ford on a 5-year lease arrangement.
In addition to the 4 electric vehicles, the Parks Team also has 1 hybrid electric vehicle, procured in 2021. These eco-friendly vehicles will be primarily utilized for transporting equipment to Salisbury’s parks for daily maintenance tasks such as gardening, strimming, pitch marking, and essential safety checks and inspections.
This investment in electric vans underscores Salisbury City Council’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint in an effort to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The council aims to eventually replace all its conventional vehicles with electric-powered ones, aligning with its commitment to environmental conservation.
