A 31-year-old man from Chippenham, James Morrison, has been sentenced to a total of 13 years and four months in prison for repeatedly raping a young boy and subjecting him to ‘horrific’ crimes. Morrison, with no fixed address, pleaded guilty to charges including four counts of raping a child, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. He also engaged in non-penetrative sexual activity with a child.
The sentencing took place at Winchester Crown Court, with Morrison also being given a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order and being mandated to sign the sex offenders register for life. The Wiltshire Police commended the bravery of the victim, who, despite being threatened by the offender, found the courage to disclose the abuse. Detective Investigator Francesca Mason of the Child Abuse Investigation Team lauded the young victim’s courage and emphasized the importance of reporting incidents of sexual abuse to the authorities.
