Melksham resident Jamie Suggitt, 34, has been sentenced to 34 months in prison for stalking and making death threats to a woman. The victim was subjected to surveillance and harassment, with Suggitt warning her against informing others about his actions.
Following his guilty plea and admission of criminal damage, Suggitt was handed his jail term at Salisbury Crown Court on November 24. Wiltshire Police expressed gratitude to the victim for her bravery in coming forward and emphasized the importance of reporting suspected stalking incidents.
Debbie Quayle, a Local Crime Investigator at Wiltshire Police, acknowledged the victim’s courage and the critical role her cooperation played in ensuring Suggitt’s accountability. Quayle stressed the force’s commitment to taking reports of stalking and threats seriously, underscoring that such behavior will not be tolerated.

Wiltshire Police also highlighted the complexity of stalking cases, emphasizing that the perpetrator could be an acquaintance or former associate, rather than a stranger. The message encourages those experiencing repeated unwanted behavior to report the incident, reassuring that it is not their fault and urging them to seek support from the National Stalking Helpline or law enforcement.
