Richard Webb’s heinous sex attacks have scarred his victim’s life, causing her to seek disassociation from her childhood. The 65-year-old from Unity House in Chippenham was convicted of six counts of indecent assault on a child, with the first incident occurring in the 1990s. These crimes have resulted in an eight-year prison sentence for Webb.
The victim expressed the profound impact of Webb’s assaults, lamenting, “I feel as though those years are lost to me. It feels like I have disassociated myself from most of my childhood. He ruined my life.” She further admitted, “I don’t think I will ever get over what he did to me. I will forever be trying to deal with the abuse I suffered.”
The victim’s valor in coming forward was commended by Wiltshire Police. Detective Constable Lauren Barnard highlighted the enduring suffering the victim endures as a consequence of Webb’s actions and praised her bravery in speaking out.
