Pupils from Kingsbury Green Academy are savoring the success of their recent participation in the Calne Music and Arts Festival, where they gained the distinction of selling their artwork. The students, as part of their GCSE Art course, presented a diverse range of pieces, employing various techniques and exploring engaging themes.
Five pupils participated in the festival, which welcomed artists from all stages of life. The selected pieces, a result of their dedicated work, captivated the attention of attendees. Notably, two artworks were purchased during the exhibition— a photographic manipulation piece by Leon and an edited butterfly photo by Hollie. Other notable pieces included an oil pastel portrait, an oil pastel self-portrait, and a biro artwork highlighting the issues of female safety and Sarah Everard.
Reflecting on this achievement, Leon, now in Year 12, expressed surprise and delight at selling his artwork, emphasizing the positive feedback received from the purchaser. Katie, another student, underlined the enriching experience of witnessing diverse artworks at the festival.
